Frequently asked questions

What is Houston Cultural Collective?

Houston Cultural Collective (HCC) is a grassroots platform based in Houston that connects immigrant and local creatives,  including artists, musicians, healers, and vendors,  with intentional, community-driven events hosted across the city.

We connect you to opportunities that align with your work and help you gain visibility, reach wider audiences, and generate revenue.

What kind of opportunities do you offer?

We connect creatives to:

Cultural festivals and city-led events
Art exhibits and pop-ups
Live music nights and jam sessions
Vision board workshops and creative labs
Sound baths and wellness experiences
Vendor spots at local markets and showcases
Whether you're looking to perform, sell, teach, or share your craft,  we help match you with aligned spaces and events.

Who can partner with HCC?

We work with:

Visual artists, poets, and writers
Musicians, DJs, and performers
Healers, workshop facilitators, and educators
Small business owners and vendors
Community-focused creatives and cultural organizers
If your work is rooted in expression, culture, wellness, or community, we’d love to connect.

What makes HCC different?

We are not a booking agency.
We are a community-rooted platform led by an Afro-Latina creative with lived experience.
We care about who we place you with, why it matters, and how it helps you grow.

We focus on visibility, alignment, and shared success — not just filling vendor tables or stages.

Is there an agreement to sign?

Yes. We provide a clear collaboration agreement outlining:

Our commission model
What you’re responsible for (sales, setup, promotion, etc.)
What HCC provides (connection, logistics, media, support)
Expectations for communication and respectful conduct
This helps keep the process smooth, professional, and fair for everyone.

💬 How does HCC’s event partnership model work?

At HCC, we don’t charge upfront vendor or artist fees. Instead, we use a 20% commission model for paid opportunities we connect you to. That means you keep 80% of your earnings, and we retain 20% to support the behind-the-scenes work that makes your visibility possible.
